If there is one thing that separates Brent from any other politician
that I've ever known, it is that he really does keep his promises. Brent
didn't run for State Senate just to "be a Senator", he ran for the Senate
because he really enjoys what he does and wants to help. There's no question
that I'll vote for Brent this fall."

Property Taxes – Senator Waltz pledged to reform Indiana’s antiquated property tax system when he was first elected in 2004. Four the past four years he has fought to transform how Indiana pays for government and voted for the revolutionary property tax reform earlier this year. Brent authored Senate Joint Resolution 8 – a constitutional amendment to repeal residential property taxes.
Lifetime Health Insurance – Brent Waltz promised not to accept the Indiana Senate lifetime health insurance offered to legislators, their spouses, and children. On his first day in the Senate, Brent refused this political perk. He and other like minded senators repealed lifetime health insurance for lawmakers in 2007.
Legislative Pension – Although every state employee is legally obligated to sign up for Indiana’s pension program, Senator Waltz donates his entire pension to the Central Indiana United Way. The United Way serves both Marion and Johnson Counties and provides financial assistance to a number of important causes – including the Boy Scouts of America.
Education – Brent knows that education is absolutely vital if Indiana is to remain competitive in an ever changing and more demanding global marketplace. Senator Waltz pledged to make education a priority – and he has. In addition to opposing unfunded mandates, Brent advocates school choice regardless of economic status.
