What has Brent been working on over the past four years as a Senator?
“I have known Brent for many years. He
is a tireless leader who works
every day for the people he represents” --N.S.
Southport
“I support his efforts to repeal residential property taxes. Brent Waltz will continue to fight for this important issue when he wins a second term.” --B.C. White River Township.
Four years ago Brent Waltz unseated a 36 year incumbent with the promise of change. And he delivered. These past few years have witnessed tremendous positive change in Indiana. While there is much more than needs to be accomplished in these challenging times, there can be no question that Indiana is faring better than our neighboring states in terms of employment, economic development, infrastructure improvements, and quality of life.
1) The outrageous legislative perks of lifetime health care benefits to lawmakers and their families (even their ex-wives and ex-husbands) has been abolished. The $4 to $1 matching pension plan has been stopped. A ban on lobbying by former legislators for at least a year after they leave the General Assembly has been made into law.
2) Hundreds of new employees of Indiana have been hired to protect Hoosier children at risk of abuse.
3) Property tax reform that is real and lasting has been achieved for the first time in over a generation.
We have much to be proud of these past four years. And the next four years
will be even better.
